Yoga is the union of the individual and the universal consciousness, it is the practice of right living and takes into consideration all aspects of the person.
Although today it is considered by many to be a physical practice, yoga is actually a science for humanity, both for the body and the spirit.
It is an evolutionary process that starts from the physical body, works on energy, mind, emotions and consciousness.
We often talk about yoga therapy; thats is actually an inaccurate term, but when you practice yoga it is like doing a therapy, you feel good at all levels, it is a discipline suitable for every human being.
The needs of all men are similar: to be happy, to live well, but more important is to achieve physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
The yoga we practice is the “SagarYoga”, which we learned through Lorenza Ferraguti, direct student of Guru Satyananda Saraswati.
The “Sagar Yoga” method is an integral yoga system of the Tantric tradition that includes various techniques including:
- Asanas, positions of the body that remove tension and stiffness giving stability.
- Pranayama, correct breathing.
- Yoga Nidra, relaxation techniques.
It is called “integral” because it integrates the various branches of Yoga:
- Hatha Yoga
- Karma Yoga: action without expectations
- Raja Yoga: the yoga of the mind and meditation
- Jnana Yoga: knowledge
- Bakti Yoga: devotion.
